That Tender Deluge
The quiet storm isn’t a format, a genre, even a feeling—it’s an atmosphere that gently descends at the end of the day. It’s libidinal for some, a soundtrack to those moments in love, sure, but it offers a nice massage even when you don’t have someone to share it with. Pensive is welcome here; nobody’s turned away. And though AIDS may have took Melvin Lindsey at 36, I’d like to think that he’d put on a mix like this and smile, seeing his dream-balm extended, twisted, messed around, and played with like putty by the next generation.
